Recipe Scaler (Metric)
Metric home cooks measure flour in grams and milk in millilitres. This preset uses g, ml, and piece counts throughout the worked example.
Scaling is still linear — no unit conversion between cups and grams in v1. If you need weight swaps, use a dedicated converter; this tool keeps your chosen units.
Use the controls below to enter metric quantities.
Scaled from 4 to 8 servings (×2)
| Ingredient | Original | Scaled |
|---|---|---|
| plain flour | 250 g | 500 g |
| caster sugar | 100 g | 200 g |
| whole milk | 240 ml | 480 ml |
| unsalted butter | 115 g | 230 g |
| large eggs | 2 pieces | 4 pieces |
| baking powder | 10 g | 20 g |
Salt, pepper, and strong spices often need less than a straight multiply — taste as you go.
Scaled amounts are arithmetic estimates. Adjust to taste, especially for salt and spices.
