Calculators
Double Recipe Calculator
Doubling is the simplest scale: target servings are twice the original. The calculator applies a 2× factor to each line — no mental math for half cups or odd tablespoons.
The worked example doubles a small-batch cookie dough from 4 to 8 servings. For very large batches, leavening may need manual adjustment even when the math is linear.
Use the controls below to paste your own ingredient list.
Scaled from 4 to 8 servings (×2)
| Ingredient | Original | Scaled |
|---|---|---|
| all-purpose flour | 3 cups | 6 cups |
| sugar | 1 cup | 2 cups |
| butter, melted | 1/2 cup | 1 cup |
| eggs | 2 pieces | 4 pieces |
| vanilla extract | 2 tsp | 4 tsp |
Salt, pepper, and strong spices often need less than a straight multiply — taste as you go.
Scaled amounts are arithmetic estimates. Adjust to taste, especially for salt and spices.
