Meal Prep Recipe Scaler
Meal preppers often cook two portions but want five for the work week. Same ratio math — multiply each line by target divided by original.
The example scales a rice-and-chicken bowl from 2 to 5 servings. Protein and starch scale together; adjust sauce salt after tasting.
Use the controls below for your prep counts.
Scaled from 2 to 5 servings (×2.5)
| Ingredient | Original | Scaled |
|---|---|---|
| brown rice, dry | 1 cup | 2 1/2 cups |
| chicken breast | 1 lb | 2 1/2 lb |
| broccoli florets | 3 cups | 7 1/2 cups |
| soy sauce | 3 tbsp | 7 1/2 tbsp |
| sesame oil | 1 tbsp | 2 1/2 tbsp |
Salt, pepper, and strong spices often need less than a straight multiply — taste as you go.
Scaled amounts are arithmetic estimates. Adjust to taste, especially for salt and spices.
