Plan a stereo, 5.1, 7.1, or Dolby Atmos layout for your room. Enter length and width in feet, set your listening seat, and use the controls below for a top-down diagram with typical angles and distances you can print or save as a PDF. Positions are starting points — not professional calibration.

Subwoofer placement tips
The diagram marks a front-corner starting point. Bass collects differently in every room — try thesubwoofer crawl: place the sub at your listening seat, play steady bass, and crawl along the walls. Put the sub where bass sounds most even to your ears.
Avoid parking the sub in the exact center of the room or midway along a wall when you can — those spots often cancel bass. Car audio setups are not covered here.

5.1 speaker placement
A 5.1 system adds a center channel and side surrounds to stereo fronts. Typical guides place front left and right between 22° and 30° from the seat, the center on the TV wall, and surrounds around 110° to 120°. Use the layout control for5.1 surround and adjust room size to match your space.
7.1 and Dolby Atmos speaker placement
7.1 splits surrounds into side and rear pairs (about 90–110° and 135–150°). Dolby Atmos adds ceiling or height speakers — tryDolby Atmos 5.1.2 or 7.1.4 in the layout menu for ceiling markers on the plan plus elevation notes.
Subwoofer placement
Low bass is less directional than mids and highs, but room modes still matter. Start with a front corner on the diagram, then use the subwoofer crawl described beside the preview. Skip the exact center of the room when you can.
Stereo speaker placement
For two-channel music, aim the front left and right speakers at ±30° from the listening position with equal distance to each ear.Choose Stereo (2.0) in the layout control — add 2.1 if you want a sub on the same diagram.
